In December 2014 the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development launched its new Virtual One-Stop system, Jobs4TN, which offers an assortment of tools to aid job seekers, employers, and staff. Jobs4TN is also available as an App that can be used on smart phones and tablets. Job seekers may take advantage of the system’s tools for exploring employment opportunities, career and training options, labor market information, and other resources available through the Career Center. Job seekers may use many of the site’s features without registering for an account, but once registered for an account job seekers can take advantage of Jobs4TN résumé development tool, apply for posted positions, and establish a Virtual Recruiter. The Virtual Recruiter allows job seekers to save job searches so that the system can do the work for them. Once search criteria are saved, the system will automatically search for jobs fitting the job seeker’s qualifications, and will send an alert via e-mail or internal system message letting the job seeker know of the new job posting. The site also offers an online chat for job seekers requiring additional assistance in using the system. Job seekers may also register for a Jobs4TN workshop which is offered weekly at each Career Center. Jobs4TN also offers tools for employers to help them connect to ideal candidates based on the qualifications that are most important to them. Employers can use the system to post a job and automatically screen candidates based on their search criteria. Virtual Recruiting offered through Jobs4TN allows employers online access to thousands of qualified local job seekers and allows for daily notifications of new applicants. Employers can view and screen job seeker’s résumés by various qualifications such as location, experience, education, and certifications, including the National Career Readiness Certificate. Candidates can be contacted directly through the message center for additional information or to schedule an interview. In addition to the tools available to job seekers and employers, Jobs4TN offers many time-saving tools for staff to improve their efficiency and effectiveness in providing services to customers. Staff may use tools such as case note templates and case notes for multiple individuals in order to improve the quality of their case notes and decrease the amount of time required to enter them into the system. Furthermore, Jobs4TN’s document management system allows staff to upload documentation directly to the system. This feature decreases the need for paper files and allows customers’ “files” to be reviewed by performance staff from their own office, thus decreasing travel time and expenses. Staff may also take advantage of the systems many automated alerts to ensure that activities, goals, and closures are completed timely. Check out all these features and more at www.Jobs4TN.gov.
